CLAY SOIL STABILIZATION METHODS TO IMPROVE CBR FOR PAVING PURPOSES A LITERARY REVIEW
Abstract
The interest in research and constant innovation to obtain sufficient information, has led researchers to clay soil stabilization methods to improve the CBR for paving purposes with additive materials, in order to provide a correct analysis of the results and thus their respective discussion on soil stabilization. A systematic review was carried out under a compilation of 35 articles indexed between the years 2013 to 2021. The general objective was to perform a systematic review related to the existing methods of stabilization of clayey soils in order to improve the CBR for paving purposes, using a descriptive methodology. The results showed that CL and CM type soils have more unfavorable properties and that the optimal addition material was rice husk ash, increasing mechanical properties specifically in the CBR. It is concluded that the addition of CCA not only provides better mechanical properties in the CBR, but also provides economic and environmental benefits. This proposal provides a valuable contribution by offering an innovative stabilization method with certainty of its efficiency through the use of residues such as rice husk ash, to obtain a better mechanical behavior in this type of soils.
