The approximation is based in a formulation in terms of a vector magnetic potential and an electric scalar potential [6, 7], where the Coulomb gauge condition is imposed by adding a penalization term, which is a suitable average of the reluctivity in the computational domain. This work extends the analysis performed in [1] to the case of a magnetically nonlinear conductor. We provide a backward-Euler fully-discrete approximation based on finite elements and show that the resulting discrete variational problem is well posed by assuming physical properties of the magnetic reluctivity [5, 10, 11].
