Master of Automatic

The Faculty of Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Cauca offers the Master’s degree in Automatic.

The Masters aims to provide support, information, education, and direct contribution to strengthening the development on the environment, given that the applications of automation and robotics are considered a factor of social and economic development. The curriculum structure of the program seeks to provide a strong background in scientific research and technologies in the area of impact of the Automatic, in order to generate new knowledge or technological processes that allow the improvement of domestic industry and society in general. Thus, the research projects developed in the program will emphasize industrial automation systems, and applications of control and robotics to health area.

The Program was created under the name of Master of  Engineering, Automatic Area by Agreement No 066 of 2007 issued by the Supreme Council and obtained qualified registration by Resolution No 4562 of 2008 issued by the Ministry of National Education. Subsequently, the change was authorized to current name by Resolution No 7861 of 2009 of Ministry of Education.

Graduate Profile:

Graduates of the Program will have an academic background with a high level of competence in the field of automatic, especially industrial automation or control applications and robotics to the health field. They will also have a vision of development trends in these areas and a comprehensive understanding of the technical, economic, and social conditions in the industrial and social environment of the country.

Specifically, the graduate profile responds to specific needs such as:

Generate industry with high levels of competitiveness in today’s globalized environment.
Adaptation and administration of modern industrial development in our country for the optimization of production processes.
Development of tools to plan, implement, and manage projects for industrial automation to improve production processes through the development of research.

Development of robotic applications that offer the reintegration into society of persons with disabilities.

Development of robotic applications that support the improvement of surgical procedures offered at health institutions.


Candidate Profile:

The Masters is aimed in particular at:
Professionals in the areas of Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, Computer Science or related, interested in developing research and development activities in the fields of industrial automation, control, and robotics.

Place where it is offered: Popayan

Schedule: Fridays all day and Saturdays in the Mornings.

Modality: The classes are held in a classroom setting.

Duration: Four (4) semesters.

Admission: Annual
