Graduate Specialization in Public Accounting

The curriculum of the Graduate Specialization in Public Accounting Program seeks to  

Enhance professional standards of public accountants specifically in the capacity of application of accounting norms and the improving of public administration in all levels including local and national levels and in central and decentralized sectors.  Another objective of the program is to contribute to moralization of Public Administration by training in an effective control of corruption, which is so prevalent when managing state resources. 

The Colombian Institute for Superior Education, ICFES gives the guidelines to use on the document structure to create Specialization Programs.   The structure of the program follows such guidelines according to the Decrees 1403 of 1993, 837 of 1994 and 1475 of 1996; broadening to include the institutional presentation, the justification and the relevance of offering the program in the Department of Cauca.

The University of Cauca and the Public Accounting General Directorate Office signed an inter-institutional collaboration agreement that allows among other things obtain technical and academic support from such a prestigious entity.  This agreement guarantees quality and relevance to the program since this entity is responsible for setting standards and protocols for Public Accounting.  

The candidate must hold a degree in Public Accounting and  the selection process is made by the admission committee  taking into account the following the student’s undergraduate performance, working experience and an interview.

Modality: Blended learning.

Duration: Two (2) semesters.

Admission: Annual.
